The Legislative Service Commission staff updates the Revised Code on an ongoing basis, as it completes its act review of enacted legislation. Updates may be slower during some times of the year, depending on the volume of enacted legislation.

Section 4765.163

 
Section 4765.163 is not yet in effect. It takes effect March 20, 2025.

(A) The state board of emergency medical, fire, and transportation services shall establish a process by which any person may submit a petition to the board requesting that a topic be included in a training or continuing education program for first responders, EMTs-basic, EMTs-I, or paramedics that is in addition to the topics specified in section 4765.16 of the Revised Code. A person shall submit a petition to the board in a manner prescribed by the board. A petitioner shall not seek to add a broad category of topics.

(B) Upon receipt of a petition, the board shall review it to determine whether to approve or deny the addition of the topic described in the petition. The board shall approve or deny a petition in accordance with rules adopted by the board under section 4765.11 of the Revised Code.

(C) Upon approval of a topic, the board shall require the topic to be included in the training or continuing education programs and shall adopt rules as necessary, in accordance with section 4765.11 of the Revised Code, regarding the number of hours required for the topic.
