Chapter 4501:1-9 | Immobilization Orders

Rule 4501:1-9-01 | Payment to immobilizing agency.
 

(A) If a court issues an immobilization order pursuant to section 4503.233 of the Revised Code, the law enforcement agency or other immobilizing agency shall promptly immobilize or continue the immobilization of the vehicle. Thereafter the appropriate governmental entity may claim the immobilization fee of one hundred dollars from the registrar of motor vehicles.

(B) If the registrar receives the immobilization fee of one hundred dollars, the registrar will pay out the amount of the fee deposited into the law enforcement reimbursement fund to the appropriate governmental entity, provided that the claim is filed with the registrar within ninety days of the ending date of the immobilization period as ordered by the court. Any claim filed after that date is considered null and void.
